Open Launch platform help — open-source Product Hunt alternative for discovering and upvoting tech products. Covers free submission (queue, dofollow backlink conditional on Top 3 daily + badge display), Premium launch (paid next-day launch with a guaranteed high-DR dofollow backlink and limited daily slots), SEO Growth Package (paid dedicated review article + backlink), daily rankings, community upvoting, streak system, and 1,000+ listed tools across AI, SaaS, Productivity, Marketing, and Design categories. Use when you want traffic and SEO backlinks from Open Launch, your product needs more discoverability, unsure whether the premium or SEO Growth tier is worth it, or your listing isn't ranking in daily results. Do NOT use for general launch strategy across multiple directories (use /sales-launch-directory), email marketing (use /sales-email-marketing), or audience growth (use /sales-audience-growth).

Helps the user with Open Launch platform questions — from submitting a product and understanding the tiered backlink system through premium launch options, daily rankings, and SEO Growth packages.
If references/learnings.md exists, read it first for accumulated knowledge.
Ask the user:
What do you need help with?
What stage is your product?
What's your goal?
If the user's request already provides most of this context, skip directly to the relevant step. Lead with your best-effort answer using reasonable assumptions (stated explicitly), then ask only the most critical 1-2 clarifying questions at the end.
If the request maps to a specialized skill, route:

Read references/platform-guide.md for detailed module documentation, pricing, integrations, and data model.
You no longer need the platform guide details — focus on the user's specific situation.

Open Launch works best as one platform in a broader launch. Use /sales-launch-directory for the full cross-platform strategy, but here's where Open Launch fits:
Best-effort from research — review these, especially items about plan-gated features and integration gotchas that may be outdated.
Free backlink is NOT automatic. This is the most important gotcha. Unlike every other directory in this category, Open Launch's free backlink requires BOTH Top 3 daily ranking AND displaying their badge on your site. If you just want a guaranteed backlink, pay the $12.
$12 Premium is unusually cheap. At $12 for a guaranteed DR65 dofollow backlink, this is the best backlink-per-dollar value in the launch directory ecosystem. A comparable DR65 backlink through outreach could cost $200+.
SEO Growth article uses AI. The $59 article is created with "product testing and AI assistance" then reviewed by humans. Quality may vary. It's non-refundable once purchased.
10 Premium slots per day. Premium launches are capped at 10/day. On busy days these could sell out — plan accordingly.
DR65 but DA21. The DR (Ahrefs) and DA (Moz) metrics diverge significantly. DR65 is strong; DA21 is modest. Depending on which metric you track, the perceived value differs.
Traffic is modest. Like most indie launch directories, don't expect Product Hunt-level visitor numbers. The value is primarily the backlink and listing presence.
Open source means community-run. The platform is maintained by a small team of contributors. Feature development and support depend on community participation.
8:00 AM UTC launch time is fixed. No flexibility on when your product appears. Coordinate your promotion schedule around this time.
Self-improving: If you discover something not covered here, append it to references/learnings.md with today's date.

Symptom: Product is listed on Open Launch but the backlink is nofollow or missing Cause: Free-tier backlinks require BOTH conditions: (1) finishing Top 3 in daily ranking, and (2) displaying the Open Launch badge on your website. If either condition isn't met, you don't get the dofollow backlink. Solution: If the backlink matters to you, the simplest fix is upgrading to Premium ($12) — it guarantees the DR65 dofollow backlink with no conditions. If you want to earn it free, boost your upvotes (share with your network at 8 AM UTC launch) and add the Open Launch badge to your site's footer.
Symptom: Submitted days/weeks ago but product hasn't launched yet Cause: Free submissions enter a queue. Open Launch limits the number of daily launches to ensure each product gets visibility, so the queue backs up. Solution: Upgrade to Premium ($12) for next-day launch. The 10 daily premium slots rarely sell out. If budget is tight, be patient — your product will eventually launch. Use the wait time to refine your listing and prepare your promotion strategy for launch day.
Symptom: Product launched but barely got any upvotes Cause: Open Launch has modest organic traffic. Without external promotion, your listing relies on the platform's existing user base, which is smaller than Product Hunt. Solution: Don't rely on organic discovery. Share your Open Launch page at exactly 8:00 AM UTC when your listing goes live. Tweet it, post in relevant communities, tell your email list. Early upvote momentum determines your daily ranking position. Engage with every comment. Consider the streak system to build your profile presence over time.

Wizlogo (wizlogo.com) platform help — a budget online logo maker (template/style-variation, marketed as "AI") plus a hub of FREE branding tools (business-name, blog-name and slogan generators, business-card maker, invoice generator, color converter, domain search). The pricing traps: the FREE logo is PERSONAL-USE-ONLY; the two cheap paid tiers are RASTER PNG/JPG only — Single (~€39.99 one-time) and Unlimited (~€3.99 per WEEK, recurring) — and VECTOR (SVG/PDF/EPS) is gated to the ~€299.99 Enterprise tier, which also bundles human designer edits and a social kit. Transparent PNG is on all paid plans. Use when making a Wizlogo logo, understanding free-vs-paid or personal-vs-commercial use, which tier unlocks vector/SVG for print, the weekly-subscription billing trap, its free name/slogan generators, or whether it has an API (UI-only — no public API, webhooks, Zapier or MCP). Do NOT use to just generate the business name (use /sales-namelix) or to compare/validate branding tools (use /sales-idea-validation).

VistaPrint platform help (vistaprint.com, a Cimpress company) — the small-business design + print + digital-marketing platform: a free AI Logomaker (4 generations, 60 more after free sign-up) exporting SVG/PNG/PDF at 4000x4000 with no watermark, a free Brand Kit, business cards/flyers/signage/apparel/promo print, and a website builder. THE RIGHTS TRAP: VistaPrint states NO intellectual-property rights transfer on an AI-generated logo — you get usage rights but CANNOT register it for trademark or copyright; only its human designer service transfers full IP. Use when making a VistaPrint logo, asking if you own or can trademark it, running out of AI logo credits, printed colors not matching the screen, bleed/DPI/font file-prep rejections, or asking whether VistaPrint has an API (the consumer site does not — automation runs through the parent Cimpress Open partner-fulfilment API). Do NOT use for Vista Social scheduling (use /sales-vistasocial) or comparing logo tools market-wide (use /sales-idea-validation).

Turbologo (turbologo.com) platform help — a budget AI/DIY logo maker: enter a business name + industry, pick icons and colors, and it proposes logo concepts you refine in an in-browser editor, then pay a one-time fee to download (designing is free, previews are watermarked, downloading is the paywall). Vector SVG/PDF is gated to the mid tier and up; the top tier adds a brand kit (business cards, letterheads, email signatures, social assets). Use when generating a logo in Turbologo, choosing which download tier to buy, vector SVG vs raster PNG, removing the free watermark, the time-limited edit-after-purchase window, pay-to-download pricing questions, whether an AI logo is yours to trademark, or whether Turbologo has an API to bulk-generate logos (it is UI-only — no public API, webhooks, Zapier, or MCP). Do NOT use to generate the business name (use /sales-namelix), compare or validate branding tools across the market (use /sales-idea-validation), or build wider marketing creative (use /sales-canva).

Online Logo Maker (onlinelogomaker.com) platform help — a long-standing free/freemium DIY logo maker: build the mark yourself from icons, shapes, text, and fonts — MANUAL/template-based, NOT enter-a-name-get-AI-concepts. The free pack downloads a LOW-RES 300px PNG with a background; vector SVG, transparent PNG, and 2000px high-res are gated to a one-time lifetime Premium pack (not a subscription). The free tier's commercial-use rights are disputed by reviewers — clean ownership effectively needs Premium, and a shared-icon mark can be non-distinctive. Use for building/editing a logo here, free download vs Premium, vector SVG or transparent PNG, one-time pricing, commercial-use/trademark terms, near-namesake confusion (NOT LogoMaker.com / LogoMakr / Logomakerr.ai), or whether it has an API (UI-only — no API, webhooks, Zapier, MCP). Do NOT use to generate the business name (use /sales-namelix), compare branding tools across the market (use /sales-idea-validation), or build wider creative (use /sales-canva).
