DesignCrowd (designcrowd.com) platform help — a HUMAN crowdsourcing custom-design contest marketplace (a 99designs/Designhill/Crowdspring peer), NOT an AI/DIY logo maker: write a brief, pay upfront, 25-100+ real designers submit competing designs across 60+ categories (logo, web, print, merch); pick a winner who transfers FULL COPYRIGHT + pro source files. One-time per project (best-effort) + a NON-REFUNDABLE posting fee + a percentage project fee; the money-back guarantee EXCLUDES the posting fee and guaranteed projects (the #1 billing complaint). Crowdsourcing means variable quality + a real plagiarism risk — run reverse-image + USPTO/EUIPO clearance first. UI-only — NO self-serve API (white-label/wholesale + affiliate are reseller, not automation). Use for how contests work, pricing/posting-fee/refund, copyright & source files, plagiarism/quality risk, contest-vs-1-to-1, or API/automation. Do NOT use to validate the idea (/sales-idea-validation) or for a free/cheap DIY logo (/sales-hatchful).

DesignCrowd (designcrowd.com) is a crowdsourcing custom-design contest marketplace — you post a brief,
pay upfront, and a global pool of real freelance designers (1.3M+ registered) submit competing custom
designs; you review the entries and pick a winner, who hands over the final files. It spans 60+ design
services (logo, web/landing pages, print, packaging, merch, illustration, social/marketing graphics). It's a peer
of 99designs / Designhill / Crowdspring (contest marketplaces) — not the budget logo-maker cluster
(Hatchful / DesignEvo / Namecheap / LOGO.com), which are DIY/AI tools you operate yourself. Design is downstream
of a locked name, which is downstream of a validated idea, so validate demand first (/sales-idea-validation → a
real behavior test) and settle the name (/sales-namelix) before you pay real designers to brand it.
The first fact that frames every answer — it's HUMAN crowdsourcing, not AI/DIY. You write a brief and 25–100+ real designers compete for your money with original, custom work; the winner transfers full copyright + professional/source files to you. The trade: custom human design + real ownership (a genuine edge over shared-template makers, where every buyer starts from the same template) — but it costs hundreds of dollars, not $0, takes days, not minutes, quality varies designer-to-designer, and crowdsourcing carries a real plagiarism/stolen-design risk (reviewers report winning entries later found copied). Want a free/cheap DIY logo in minutes? Wrong tool — use the logo-maker cluster. Want custom human work you fully own? Right one.
The second fact — one-time per project, but three charges stack, and the guarantee has carve-outs. A project is a one-time buy (no subscription), but the price is package + posting fee + a percentage fee: logo packages run ~$109–$739 (best-effort — more designs/designers at higher tiers), plus a NON-REFUNDABLE posting fee (~$29–$129) and a ~4% project fee, plus optional upgrades (~$30–$150 — top designers, private/blind project, express 3-day turnaround). There is a money-back guarantee, but it excludes the posting fee, the ~4% fee, and "guaranteed" projects (refund window reported 30 or 60 days — sources conflict). This carve-out is the #1 source of billing complaints (PissedConsumer ~1.7★). All pricing best-effort → verify at designcrowd.com.

Skip-ahead: a name (not a design) → /sales-namelix; the validate-before-building method or a branding-tool
comparison across the market → /sales-idea-validation; a free/cheap DIY logo → /sales-hatchful (free PNG) or

| If the user's question is about… | Route to |
|---|---|
| Generating the business name itself (not the design) | /sales-namelix {question} |
| The validate-before-building method, or comparing branding/design tools across the market | /sales-idea-validation {question} |
| A free DIY logo (Namecheap gives free vector SVG; DesignCrowd is paid human work) | /sales-namecheap-logo-maker {question} |
| A free usable PNG logo in minutes (vs paying real designers) | /sales-hatchful {question} |
| A cheap one-time AI logo (vs a $100s+ human contest) | /sales-designevo {question} |
| Building the wider social/marketing creative or a design system at scale | /sales-canva {question} |
When routing, give the exact command: "This is a {domain} question — run: /sales-namelix {original question}"

Best-effort from research (2026-07) — pricing/fees/guarantee terms move and sources conflict; the live pricing page 404'd to automated fetch, so figures came from third-party pricing writeups + reviews. Verify at designcrowd.com.
/sales-namelix — Generate the business name first (design is the hand-off from the name)/sales-hatchwise — The other big contest marketplace — but with ALL-INCLUSIVE pricing ("no hidden fees," the tier price IS the winner's prize) instead of DesignCrowd's stacked posting fee + ~4% fee; also runs naming contests. The router matches any sales objective to the right skill. Install: npx skills add sales-skills/sales --skill sales-do -a claude-codeUser says: "I want a logo on DesignCrowd — it looks cheap. What will I actually pay?"
Skill does: Explains it's a human crowdsourcing contest (you pay upfront, designers compete), not a
free/DIY tool. Breaks cost into package (~$109–$739) + a NON-REFUNDABLE posting fee (~$29–$129) + a ~4% fee, plus
optional upgrades (~$30–$150); notes higher packages buy more designs/designers, not different ownership, and
the posting fee is spent at launch (excluded from the guarantee). Flags figures best-effort → designcrowd.com;
if they wanted free/instant, points to /sales-hatchful or /sales-namecheap-logo-maker.
Result: The user sees the three stacked charges and picks a contest budget — or switches to a free DIY tool.
User says: "My DesignCrowd contest is done. Do I own the logo, and could the designer have copied it?" Skill does: Confirms the winner transfers full copyright + professional/source files (a real edge over shared-template makers), but warns copyright transfer ≠ a registered trademark and crowdsourced entries carry a plagiarism/stock-tracing risk — so before relying on the mark, run a reverse-image search on the winning design + a USPTO/EUIPO clearance, and grab the domain + handles. Result: The user secures the files, verifies originality, and plans proper trademark clearance.
User says: "Is there a DesignCrowd API so I can create briefs and pull finished files programmatically?" Skill does: States DesignCrowd has no self-serve public API — a human-in-the-loop marketplace with no documented REST endpoints, webhooks, Zapier/Make, or MCP, so contests cannot be scripted; clarifies the white-label/wholesale and affiliate programs are reseller/partner, not automation, and doesn't invent endpoints. For programmatic generation at volume, suggests an image-generation service with a documented API. Result: The user avoids building on a nonexistent API and picks a workable path.
Symptom: The final charge was higher than the package price you expected. Cause: A project is package + a non-refundable posting fee (~$29–$129) + a ~4% project fee, plus any upgrades you added (top designers / private / express, ~$30–$150). The package price alone isn't the total. Solution: Before launching, add up all three parts + upgrades. The posting fee is non-refundable and spent at launch, so decide on upgrades up front. Confirm current figures at designcrowd.com (best-effort).
Symptom: You invoked the money-back guarantee but didn't get everything back. Cause: The guarantee refunds the project budget only — it excludes the posting fee and the ~4% fee, and "guaranteed" projects are excluded entirely (refund window reported 30 or 60 days — sources conflict). Solution: Expect the posting fee + 4% fee to be non-refundable. Check whether you chose a guaranteed project (no refund). Request the refund within the window and keep records; verify the current policy on-site.
Symptom: The competing entries were weak, generic, or off-brief. Cause: On a crowdsourcing contest, entry quality tracks the brief and the incentive — a vague brief or low budget attracts weaker entries; quality also varies designer-to-designer. Solution: Tighten the brief (audience, style references, colors, what to avoid), give prompt feedback/ratings to steer the crowd mid-contest, and consider an upgrade (top designers / higher budget); or use a 1-to-1 project for depth with one designer. (Is-there-an-API? see Example 3 / Step 4 — UI-only; use an image-generation API for volume.)

Wizlogo (wizlogo.com) platform help — a budget online logo maker (template/style-variation, marketed as "AI") plus a hub of FREE branding tools (business-name, blog-name and slogan generators, business-card maker, invoice generator, color converter, domain search). The pricing traps: the FREE logo is PERSONAL-USE-ONLY; the two cheap paid tiers are RASTER PNG/JPG only — Single (~€39.99 one-time) and Unlimited (~€3.99 per WEEK, recurring) — and VECTOR (SVG/PDF/EPS) is gated to the ~€299.99 Enterprise tier, which also bundles human designer edits and a social kit. Transparent PNG is on all paid plans. Use when making a Wizlogo logo, understanding free-vs-paid or personal-vs-commercial use, which tier unlocks vector/SVG for print, the weekly-subscription billing trap, its free name/slogan generators, or whether it has an API (UI-only — no public API, webhooks, Zapier or MCP). Do NOT use to just generate the business name (use /sales-namelix) or to compare/validate branding tools (use /sales-idea-validation).

VistaPrint platform help (vistaprint.com, a Cimpress company) — the small-business design + print + digital-marketing platform: a free AI Logomaker (4 generations, 60 more after free sign-up) exporting SVG/PNG/PDF at 4000x4000 with no watermark, a free Brand Kit, business cards/flyers/signage/apparel/promo print, and a website builder. THE RIGHTS TRAP: VistaPrint states NO intellectual-property rights transfer on an AI-generated logo — you get usage rights but CANNOT register it for trademark or copyright; only its human designer service transfers full IP. Use when making a VistaPrint logo, asking if you own or can trademark it, running out of AI logo credits, printed colors not matching the screen, bleed/DPI/font file-prep rejections, or asking whether VistaPrint has an API (the consumer site does not — automation runs through the parent Cimpress Open partner-fulfilment API). Do NOT use for Vista Social scheduling (use /sales-vistasocial) or comparing logo tools market-wide (use /sales-idea-validation).

Turbologo (turbologo.com) platform help — a budget AI/DIY logo maker: enter a business name + industry, pick icons and colors, and it proposes logo concepts you refine in an in-browser editor, then pay a one-time fee to download (designing is free, previews are watermarked, downloading is the paywall). Vector SVG/PDF is gated to the mid tier and up; the top tier adds a brand kit (business cards, letterheads, email signatures, social assets). Use when generating a logo in Turbologo, choosing which download tier to buy, vector SVG vs raster PNG, removing the free watermark, the time-limited edit-after-purchase window, pay-to-download pricing questions, whether an AI logo is yours to trademark, or whether Turbologo has an API to bulk-generate logos (it is UI-only — no public API, webhooks, Zapier, or MCP). Do NOT use to generate the business name (use /sales-namelix), compare or validate branding tools across the market (use /sales-idea-validation), or build wider marketing creative (use /sales-canva).

Online Logo Maker (onlinelogomaker.com) platform help — a long-standing free/freemium DIY logo maker: build the mark yourself from icons, shapes, text, and fonts — MANUAL/template-based, NOT enter-a-name-get-AI-concepts. The free pack downloads a LOW-RES 300px PNG with a background; vector SVG, transparent PNG, and 2000px high-res are gated to a one-time lifetime Premium pack (not a subscription). The free tier's commercial-use rights are disputed by reviewers — clean ownership effectively needs Premium, and a shared-icon mark can be non-distinctive. Use for building/editing a logo here, free download vs Premium, vector SVG or transparent PNG, one-time pricing, commercial-use/trademark terms, near-namesake confusion (NOT LogoMaker.com / LogoMakr / Logomakerr.ai), or whether it has an API (UI-only — no API, webhooks, Zapier, MCP). Do NOT use to generate the business name (use /sales-namelix), compare branding tools across the market (use /sales-idea-validation), or build wider creative (use /sales-canva).
