CtrlAlt.cc platform help — curated startup tool directory with daily featured products, community upvoting, and 26 categories (AI, Marketing, Developer tools, Productivity, No-code, etc.). Covers free submission (editorial review queue, up to 2 months wait), paid launch ($39 for week-long homepage feature with dofollow links, skip queue), streak rewards, Product of the Week newsletter, and DA30 dofollow backlinks. Use when unsure how to get listed on CtrlAlt.cc, listing not getting upvotes or visibility, can't decide between paid and free submission, or want the DA30 backlink but not sure it's worth it. Do NOT use for general launch strategy across multiple directories (use /sales-launch-directory), email marketing (use /sales-email-marketing), or audience growth (use /sales-audience-growth).

Helps the user with CtrlAlt.cc platform questions — from submitting a startup tool and getting featured through community engagement, paid launch options, and maximizing backlink value.
If references/learnings.md exists, read it first for accumulated knowledge.
Ask the user:
What do you need help with?
What stage is your product?
What's your goal?
If the user's request already provides most of this context, skip directly to the relevant step. Lead with your best-effort answer using reasonable assumptions (stated explicitly), then ask only the most critical 1-2 clarifying questions at the end.
If the request maps to a specialized skill, route:

CtrlAlt.cc is a curated directory of startup tools focused on lesser-known products that "fly under the radar." Unlike Product Hunt's 24-hour launch window, CtrlAlt.cc is a discovery directory where products are featured daily and organized across 26 categories.
Key difference: Curated by a single person (Daniela, UX designer) — the directory has an editorial voice and manual curation. Products are reviewed before listing.
| Mechanism | How it works | Benefit | |---|---|---| | Daily featured | Curated products shown on homepage daily | Homepage visibility on your launch date | | Categories | 26 categories (AI, Marketing, Developer tools, etc.) | Discovery by category browsing | | Upvoting | Community votes on products | Higher visibility within daily listings | | Streaks | Consecutive-day engagement tracking (66-day milestone) | Gamified community participation | | Newsletter | "Product of the Week" — directory updated every Friday | Email distribution to subscribers |
AI, Analytics, Async, Audio + Video, Design tools, Developer tools, Marketing tools, Email, Hiring, Learning, Legal, No-code, Payments + Finances, Productivity, Security, Templates, Investors, Chill, Communities, Directories, and more.

| Step | What to do | Why it matters | |---|---|---| | 1. Prepare your listing | Clear product name, problem-focused description (1 paragraph max) | Concise descriptions get approved faster | | 2. Include your URL | Working landing page with clear CTA | Required for submission, converts visitors | | 3. Pick a launch date | Choose a Monday for best visibility | Platform data shows Monday is optimal | | 4. Time it right | Target 10:00 UTC | Peak engagement window | | 5. Choose free vs paid | Free if patient, $39 if timing matters | Paid skips 2-month queue and guarantees feature | | 6. Verify as maker | Check "I am the maker" | Maker badge adds credibility |

CtrlAlt.cc works best as one platform in a broader launch. Use /sales-launch-directory for the full cross-platform strategy, but here's a quick sequence:
Best-effort from research — review these, especially items about plan-gated features and integration gotchas that may be outdated.
Small, solo-run platform. CtrlAlt.cc is curated by one person (Daniela). Response times and review queue depend on her availability. Don't expect the same throughput as larger platforms.
2-month free queue is real. Multiple sources confirm the wait. If you need timely listing, the $39 paid option is the only way to guarantee it.
DA30 is modest. Significantly lower than other directories in this category (ProductBurst DR46, MicroLaunch DR59, SideProjectors DR69). The backlink has value but is on the lower end.
Traffic numbers conflict. LaunchPedia reports <5K/mo, other sources say 15.7K. Actual traffic is likely on the lower end. Don't expect significant visitor volume.
No API or programmatic access. Everything is manual — submission, updates, engagement. No way to automate.
WordPress/Elementor stack. The platform is functional but not as polished or feature-rich as purpose-built launch platforms. Limited analytics for makers.
Newsletter reach unknown. "Product of the Week" exists but subscriber count is not documented. The email distribution value is unverified.
No support email. Only contact channels are X (@nerddoingsocial) and Instagram (@ctrlaltcc). Response times may vary.
Self-improving: If you discover something not covered here, append it to references/learnings.md with today's date.

/sales-launch-directory for full multi-directory strategySymptom: Submitted weeks ago and product hasn't appeared on the site Cause: Free submissions enter an editorial queue managed by a single curator. Wait times of up to 2 months are documented. Solution: If timing matters, upgrade to the $39 paid launch to skip the queue. Otherwise, be patient — the listing will eventually be reviewed. Use the wait time to submit to instant-listing platforms like ProductBurst and SoloPush for immediate visibility.
Symptom: Product is listed but barely getting upvotes or attention Cause: CtrlAlt.cc has modest traffic (~5K-15.7K/mo). Organic discovery alone may not drive significant engagement, especially outside the featured week. Solution: Share your CtrlAlt.cc listing on Twitter, relevant subreddits, and communities. Engage with the platform's streak system to increase your profile visibility. Don't rely on CtrlAlt.cc as a primary traffic source — use it as one part of a multi-directory launch strategy.
Symptom: Want to verify the backlink type before investing time
Cause: Third-party sources report dofollow, but individual listings may vary.
Solution: After listing, inspect the link. Right-click your product link on the CtrlAlt.cc page → Inspect Element → check for rel="nofollow". If absent, the link is dofollow. If present, the listing still has brand and referral value. The $39 paid launch explicitly mentions dofollow links.

Waitlister platform help — pre-launch waitlist platform with hosted landing pages, points-based viral referrals, built-in email broadcasts, REST API, and five HMAC-signed webhook events. Use when choosing Free (100 subscribers) vs Launch $15/mo (unlimited subs, referrals + broadcasts) vs Growth $49/mo (API, webhooks, Klaviyo/Mailchimp/Kit sync, fraud detection unlock here) vs Business $129/mo, building a webhook handler that verifies X-Webhook-Signature, webhooks auto-disabled after 10 consecutive failures, API signups bypassing referral fraud detection because client_ip/fingerprint weren't forwarded, granting bonus points or pulling top referrers via the API for reward fulfillment, broadcast send caps forcing an ESP handoff, automating without Zapier (Waitlister has none — webhooks/API only), or comparing Waitlister vs LaunchList/KickoffLabs/GetWaitlist/Prefinery. Do NOT use for list-growth strategy (use /sales-audience-growth) or LaunchList help (use /sales-launchlist).

LaunchList platform help — viral pre-launch waitlist platform with one-time lifetime pricing, gamified referrals (queue jumping, leaderboard, position inflation), embed widget + custom form POST endpoint, new_user/email_verify webhooks, Zapier, and spam protection. Use when choosing Free (100 submissions) vs Launch $29 (500) vs Grow $79 one-time (10K — webhooks, Zapier, team unlock here), wiring waitlist signups into Mailchimp/Kit/HubSpot or a CRM because LaunchList has no email broadcast system, needing programmatic access when there is no public REST API yet (form POST + webhook workaround), building a webhook handler with referred_by referral attribution, blocking disposable-email or bot signups on a viral waitlist, a custom signup form not submitting or not tracking referrals, or comparing LaunchList vs KickoffLabs/Viral Loops/Prefinery/GetWaitlist on one-time vs subscription pricing. Do NOT use for list-growth strategy (use /sales-audience-growth) or KickoffLabs help (use /sales-kickofflabs).

UpViral platform help — viral referral marketing and list-building platform (by Emarky) for viral sweepstakes, giveaway/reward campaigns, pre-launch waiting lists, and milestone referrals, with REST API (`app.upviral.com/api/v1/`, form-encoded `uvapikey` + `uvmethod`), Callback-URL webhooks, IP-based fraud detection, and 30+ ESP/CRM integrations. Use when campaigns aren't tracking referral points, deciding between Starter $79/mo (10K leads, NO API) vs Business $119/mo (API + webhooks) vs Premium $319/mo, the API erroring because you're on Starter where API/webhooks are gated, building a pipeline with `add_contact`/`get_leads`/`get_leads_points`, interpreting same-IP suspicious-referral flags, or picking UpViral over Viral Loops/Vyper/Gleam. Do NOT use for newsletter audience growth (use /sales-audience-growth), KickoffLabs help (use /sales-kickofflabs), merge-tag referrals (use /sales-referralkit), SparkLoop recommendations (use /sales-sparkloop), or multi-level Level 1/2/3 tracking (use /sales-referralhero).

Use when referrals aren't tracking, deciding between Free (no API) vs PRO $199/mo (API + webhooks) vs PREMIUM $399/mo (ReCaptcha + SMS Verification), auth failing with `no_token` or `Bearer` vs `X-API-Key`, Level 2/3 counts off from calling `level_2_all_referrals` not `level_2_referrals`, bulk 429s from not chunking the 500-transaction `add_bulk_transactions` limit, coupon endpoints 404 without a coupon group, reward fulfillment (`promote` then `unlock_promoted_reward`) failing, or comparing to SparkLoop/ReferralKit/GrowSurf.
