Execute the final phase of memory update: promote staged files to production.

Process Guidelines

DO BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE: Follow all guidelines in Guidelines/memory-consolidation-guidelines.md

Prerequisites

Verify all four memory files exist in Memory/YYYYMMDD-memory-update/. If any are missing, stop and inform the user.

Verify that validation step has been completed: Check that "Validation Completed" is set to True in Memory/YYYYMMDD-memory-update/memory-index.md.

Process

1. Identify today's staging directory: Memory/YYYYMMDD-memory-update/
2. Archive previous memory files:
   • Move old files (Memory/memory*.md) to Archive/Memory/YYYYMMDD-memory-archived/
3. Move new versions from staging:
   • memory-people.md, memory-work.md, memory-context.md → Memory/
   • memory-index.md → Curated-Context/System/memory-index.md
4. Clear any entries from the Curated-Context/System/corrections.md file since these have been processed now and we need to start this period with a fresh/clear file.
5. Archive any processed session extracts: move files from Raw-Materials/Session-Extracts/ to Archive/Raw-Materials/Session-Extracts/ (create the archive directory if needed). Only move files dated on or before the memory update date.
6. Delete the now empty staging directory

Output

Confirm for the user:

1. Which files were promoted
2. Where previous versions were archived
3. Confirmation that the staging directory was deleted and the Curated-Context/System/corrections.md file was cleared
4. Memory update cycle is now complete
