In larger organizations, pace often degrades to match the recurring meeting calendar. High-velocity leadership involves "bending the universe" to your will by decoupling action from the calendar and setting an explicit expectation that the team operates "one click faster" than their natural inclination.
The core of fast execution is the "One Click Faster" rule. When a leader or team proposes a timeline, your role is to challenge the iteration unit.
Apply this transformation to every proposed deadline:
Velocity without quality is "feature factory" behavior. High-velocity organizations require extreme talent density and radical candor.
