skills/unified-search/SKILL.md
This skill should be used when searching code, finding documentation, understanding code-doc relationships, or performing impact analysis. Use when: "search code", "find function", "find class", "where is defined", "search docs", "PDF content", "cross reference", "impact analysis", "blast radius", "what calls this", "find all references". Prefer this over raw Grep/Glob for symbol search, impact analysis, code-doc cross-references, and understanding codebase structure.
npx skillsauth add mikeparcewski/wicked-garden unified-searchInstall this skill globally with one command. Works with Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf.

Search across code AND documents via the unified knowledge graph.
# 1. Index a project (code + docs)
/wicked-garden:search:index /path/to/project
# 2. Search everything
/wicked-garden:search:search "authentication"
# 3. Find where a symbol is documented
/wicked-garden:search:refs AuthService
# 4. Find code that implements a doc section
/wicked-garden:search:impl "Security Requirements"

All search commands query the knowledge graph via the wicked-brain server. The brain must be running for search to function — it auto-starts via the brain lifecycle hooks.
Advanced traversal, hotspot detection, and multi-project isolation are available when wicked-brain is installed. See refs/graph-analysis.md for the full API reference including traverse, hotspots, and project-scoped queries.
The indexer automatically detects when documents mention code symbols:
AuthService, UserRepositoryauthenticate_user, get_user_by_id`my_function`process_data()These create "documents" edges in the graph, linking doc sections to code.
/wicked-garden:search:index before searching/refs to discover code-doc relationshipsCode: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Go, Rust, C/C++, Ruby, and 20+ more

The map→transform→gate pattern: a deterministic transform driven by a source-of-truth map, proven by a differential-equivalence gate. v11 LLM-based work-shape classifier. Replaces the regex archetype detector with the model's own reasoning. Reads the user's prompt, picks the right archetype(s) from the catalog, identifies signals (blast_radius, novelty, reversibility, etc.), and persists to SessionState so subsequent turns steer correctly. Use when: the prompt_submit hook emitted a `<wg classify-due />` directive, OR explicitly invoked at session start, OR when re-classifying after the user changes scope mid-session.

v11 work-shape archetype runner. When a prompt has been routed to one of the 9 archetypes (triage, explore, specify, decide, ship, review, incident, build, migrate), this skill is the entry point. It picks the right per-archetype playbook from refs/ and executes the phase shape declared in `.claude-plugin/archetypes.json`. Use when: a `<wg archetype="X">` or `<wg archetypes>` system-reminder tag appears, an explicit "let's run the X archetype" request, or when one of the per-archetype slash commands resolves to this skill.

Show or set the session intent variable. Intent gates how loud the framework is — simple-edit (silent), feature/research (synthesis directive), rigor (full crew context). Auto-detected on turn 1; this skill overrides explicitly. Sticky for the session. Use when: "set intent", "intent override", "/wicked-garden:intent", "make the framework quiet", "force rigor", "what's my intent".
