PDF Requirements Review Skill
Purpose
Read a project specification from a PDF and turn it into an actionable execution plan with explicit deliverables, constraints, and risks.
When To Use
Use when a course assignment, project spec, rubric, or paper-style requirements document is provided as a PDF.
Priorities
- Extract the actual deliverables and grading signals.
- Separate explicit requirements from inferred expectations.
- Identify missing information early.
- Convert the spec into a practical implementation and experimentation plan.
Workflow
- Read the PDF carefully and identify required outputs, milestones, formatting rules, datasets, environments, and evaluation metrics.
- Extract any explicit constraints on methods, libraries, runtime, report length, or submission format.
- List ambiguities, open questions, and assumptions separately from confirmed requirements.
- Break the project into phases: setup, implementation, experiments, analysis, and report.
- Produce a step-by-step plan with dependencies and intermediate checkpoints.
Constraints
- Do not invent requirements that are not in the PDF.
- Mark inferred expectations explicitly.
- Call out missing information that could change the technical approach.
Output
Provide:
- extracted requirements
- deliverables and constraints
- open questions
- a step-by-step project plan
